CD4 – Healthy Connection
This CD is about forming Healthy Connections with self and others.
The first track – Healing the relationship with self. In order to have healthy relationships with others, we first must have a healthy relationship with the self. The way we view ourselves, our self talk, our self perception all affect the way we feel about ourselves and can have an impact on our self esteem. We also may have taken on the views and opinions that others had of us which can also impact the way we feel about ourselves. A healthy self is able to handle both criticism and praise, therefore a strong, steady core must exist, a self respect which does not change depending on the opinion of self or others is a crucial place to begin.
The second track – Healthy relationships. Once we have a healthy relationship with the self, we can establish healthy relationships with others. By recognising what our strengths and weaknesses are, what our needs and wants are and by being able to provide these to ourselves or to ask with clarity and esteem from others. Relationships are like the ebb and flow of the tides, sometimes giving more, sometimes receiving more, never about taking all or manipulating through fear. All healthy relationships must be based on mutual joy and respect of each the other.
